Do you get overwhelmed by all of the beautiful photos and descriptions in crop catalogs or aren't sure how to whittle down that list of 25 tomatoes you want to try? Do you wonder how to know if a varietal will do well in your region or perform well in your own garden? In this workshop you will learn how to choose the ideal spring vegetables for your own garden. We'll review how to prioritize your gardening goals, maximize your available space, and work with the particular benefits and challenges of your yard. This crop by crop tour will cover some of my favorite veggies that are well suited for home gardens and how to figure out which ones are right for you. Discussion will focus on site assessment, understanding crop varietals, and space planning, while also featuring tips on plant care, common pests and diseases, and more. This class is suitable for both beginning and intermediate gardeners. Whether you're growing in a large plot, a few raised beds, or even a handful of containers, I'm confident you'll come out of this class having learned some new gardening tips and be extra enthusiastic about planting your next spring crop.
