On Sunday, September 18 at 4pm, our new Six Work Blooms exhibition opens with a reading by the poets who have created original works of six words for our commissioned outdoor installation of large-scale Papel Picado, a traditional Mexican art form, created by Karina Puente. This poetry reading and art exhibit is curated by Olga Garcia Echeverria.
This event will take place outdoors near the Garden of Quiet Reflection where the exhibit will be displayed. Poets will share their six-word poems in an addition to reading other selections of their work that pertain to the theme. Artist Karina Puente will discuss ho the Papel Picado creations aim to be in communion with the natural elements.
Join us for this beautiful event in the garden.
Check-in will be at the entrance. Please bring printed ticket or you may show us your ticket from your phone.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
The Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change an event due to unforeseen circumstances. If the event is cancelled or changes, registrants will receive ample notice and be offered a full refund or a reschedule. The Arboretum cannot accommodate refunds or cancellations within 7 days of the event.
