Online Photo Permit


Permits are limited to 10 people or less (including subjects and photographers)

  • The permit fee is $50 per group--this fee increases to $75 for permits on or after 6/16/21
  • The permit must be purchased online in advance
  • Admission tickets must be purchased in advance for non-Arboretum members
  • Mask or face coverings are required with the exception of the subject(s) when the photograph is being taken
  • Photographers must always wear masks or face coverings
  • Groups must arrive together, no exceptions
  • Exit and re-entry is not permitted once checked in
  • Clients/subjects must arrive camera-ready. Hair and makeup must be done before arriving.  No clothing changes are allowed. It is against County code
  • All photography session activities shall be appropriate and free from obscene content
  • No more than one bag/cart of equipment and props may be brought into the Arboretum
  • Drones are not allowed at the Arboretum

Groups are not allowed to purchase additional permits to accommodate more people


  1. Avoid damage to collections and disruption of visitor and Arboretum activities. A permit does not give you exclusive right to an area in the garden
  2. Keep roadways clear to allow visitors and vehicles to pass through
  3. Stay on designated paths, trails and lawns. Keep out of plantings, mulch and water features
  4. Do not collect, move, damage or deface plant life, historic items, or wildlife
  5. Climbing trees, buildings, or wading in water features is not permitted
  6. Hanging bags or props on trees or buildings is prohibited at the Arboretum
  7. Pets are not allowed
  8. Balloons are not allowed
  9. Hangers are not allowed
  10. Confetti canons are not allowed
  11. Loose rose petals are not allowed
  12. Smoking is prohibited by County Ordinance 17.04.645
